How Exactly Are Luke Shantz and Steph Sitt From The TV Show Betting On Paradise
Luke Shantz and Steph Sitt are the new renovation couple in town. They have gained attention for starring on their show Betting on Paradise, where they bought a run-down piece of property and turned it into a luxurious boutique hotel. The couple is originally from Canada. The loving couple spent 10 years in Toronto before deciding to move to Costa Rica. Steph was born and raised in Toronto.
Luke on the other side was born and raised in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada. Steph was born to her parents Wendy and Patrick. She has two older brothers named Andrew and Brian. On the other side, Luke was born to his parents Phil and Anne. He has four siblings named Ryan, Aaron, Jordan, and Bethany. Both of their parents have made appearances on the Show expressing how proud they are of their children’s success.
How Long Has The Couple Been Together
The couple has been together for over 18 years now. However, they did not get married until they moved to Costa Rica. They were set to tie the knot in November 2020, but everything was cancelled when the pandemic happened. The couple disclosed that they always wanted a destination wedding and were supposed to get married in Mexico.
They decided to get married after renovating the hotel they bought, which they said was a great way to start of their new business. The happy couple are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Mia and Luna who served as flower girls at their wedding.
Their beautiful beach wedding was attended by close friends, grandparents, parents, siblings and cousins. Luke and Steph have both previously worked as teachers in Taiwan where they met. They were teaching English at a private school.
How Did They Start The HGTV Show Betting On Paradise
Their renovation journey started when the couple decided to move to Costa Rica to start a new life. They sold everything they had and added to their savings which they used to finance their journey to Costa Rica. The couple also sort out help from friends, family and investors in order to bring their aspirations or goals into reality.
And that is how the couple started their own show Betting On Paradise. Luke has a background in constraction and trading which has helped him navigated through this renovation. Steph on the other hand has high end hospitality experience from working in five star restaurants and hotels.
Their hotel which is named Hotel Amavi consists of nine guest rooms, two casita suites, a lobby, a pool, outdoor bar, giant mural and finally a honeymoon suite. The Show premiered on HGTV January 7, 2025.
