Katie Button is a renowned American Chef and restaurateur based in Asheville, North Carolina. She is the owner and executive chef of two highly acclaimed restaurants in Asheville, Curate, and Button & Co. Bagels. Katie Button began her career as a biomedical engineer, but soon realized her true passion was in the kitchen.
She went on to earn a degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University. She honed her skills at several Michelin-starred restaurants in Spain, including El Bulli and Espai Sucre. In 2011, Katie and her husband Felix Meana opened Curate, a tapas bar that has since become one of the most popular and highly regarded restaurants in Asheville.
The restaurant features traditional Spanish small plates and has been recognized by several national publications, including Food & Wine and Bon Appetit. In 2019, Katie and Felix opened Button & Co. Bagels, a New York-style bagel shop in downtown Asheville. The shop has quickly become a local favorite and has been praised for its authentic bagels and house-made spreads.
