In the blog, she documented her life in rural Oklahoma. The blog was later turned into a television program on The Food Network.

Ree’s blog documented her life in rural Oklahoma. Her first recipe was a tutorial on “How to Cook a Steak” which became popular and even won Weblog of the Year in the 2010 Bloggies. Her blog became more popular receiving 13 million page views per month.
By 2012, it had grown to approximately 23.3 million page views per month and 4.4 million unique visitors. In 2009, Ree launched a recipe-sharing site called TastyKitchen.com. Ree made her TV debut in 2010 when she appeared on an episode of Throwdown! with Bobby Flay. She became the host of her own show The Pioneer Woman which premiered on August 27, 2011, on Food Network.
