Born Nikolina Kamenova Dobreva, Nina Dobrev is a Canadian actress. She is best known for portraying Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on The CW’s tv series The Vampire Diaries. She started acting in 2006 after she was cast as Mia Jones in Degrassi: The Next Generation. Dobrev went on appear in films like The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Let’s Be Cops, and The Final Girls.

Tyrrell Sr. Public School. She later enrolled at Armstrong Acting Studios in Toronto where she took acting classes. Nina Dobrev Career

Nina made her acting debut back in 2006 when she was cast as Mia Jones in the teen drama tv series Degrassi: The Next Generation. After three years she left the tv show and  joined the cast of The CW’s supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries playing the roles of Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce.

In season five of the tv series, Nina portrayed the world’s first immortal, Petrova doppelgänger progenitor named Amara. She was also cast as Tatia in The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals in 2014. After leaving The Vampire Diaries in 2015, she returned as Elena and Katherine for its season finale in 2017.

Her other film credits include; Chloe, The Roommate, Let’s Be Cops, The perks of Being a Wallflower, and The Final Girls, Flatliners,  XXX: Return of Xander Cage and Then Came You. It was announced in July 2020, that Nina would be an executive producer for the television adaptation of the Woman 99 book series in which she will also star.

Aside from acting, Nina has been involved in multiple charitable causes like Puma’s 2011 non-profit Project called Pink. The project supports numerous breast cancer charities. She was also in support of Hunger bites which is an organization aiming at reducing hunger in about 27 districts in Pennsylvania.
